School Starts Wednesday
Welcome back Students. The Marching Band & Tall Flags are going to get busy real soon.
Annual Football Game Against Tustin H.S.
The annual football game against long time rival Tustin High will be this Friday, September 3, 2010.We are the away team this year, so seating is limited. If you are driving to the game plan to arrive early as parking is also limited.
Call time for the band is 5:30 PM and dress is black shirt (polos) and black pants.
1st Home Football Game
The first boys varsity home football game for this season is Friday, September 10, 2010 against Beckman High. This will be the first time that we have played Beckman in football. We are hoping that this will be a big game.
We do need help in the snack bar and BBQ. We are trying to run two shifts this year, 5:30 PM to the end of the 1st quarter and from the beginning of the 2nd quarter to the end of game & cleanup. This is an important part of our fundraising for the year and need helpers on both shifts.
Call time for the band is 5:30 PM. Dress is full uniform with shakos. Send money with your student to buy food at the snack bar.
1st Guild Meeting This Year
This first Guild meeting of the year will be Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 7:30 PM in the Music Room (rm 407).
It is important to attend the Guild meetings. Mr. Waibel will provide updates on all the Band & Flags are doing this fall. Part of the activity of the Guild is to raise needed funds for the FHS Instrumental Music program (at no cost to you). The second part is to show you how to have fun! Fun seeing your student perform in judged competitions at each parade/band review. Fun helping with other parents. Fun doing something you many not have done before. There are many ways to volunteer, but you need to attend the meeting to find out how.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night is Wednesday Sept 22, 2010 at 7:00 PM in the Gym. Please plan to attend and come to period 1 in the Music Room (rm 407) to meet Mr. Waibel.
2nd Home Football Game
The second home football game is Thursday, September 23, 2010. We do need volunteers for the for the snack bar & BBQ. Check your email from the Guild on how to volunteer.
Pancake Breakfast
The annual pancake breakfast featuring the FHS Marching Band & Tall Flags is Saturday, September 25, 2010. Setup for the breakfast begins at 7:00 AM. There are still several opportunities for volunteering. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 AM and call time for the band is 9:00 AM. The Band & Tall Flags will perform at approximately 9:30 AM.
